We’re exploring the incredible island of Puerto Rico with the help of our gorgeous local tour guide @Tatsgab. With breathtaking oceanfront vistas, lush tropical rainforests, breezy mountains into magical waterfalls and one of the coolest culinary scenes in the Caribbean - Puerto Rico is the kind of destination where you go with the flow, learn to breathe in the midst of chaos and enjoy every minute of the ride.
One of the best-kept secrets, partly due to the nondescript, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of aesthetic, La Alcapurria Quemá is a must. Just look for the crowd of locals lining up to get some of the yummiest Puerto Rican fritters in town.
Here’s where we stayed. Nestled in Ocean Park's charming beach neighbourhood, this boutique hotel is just steps away from the water and Puerto Rico’s vibrant restaurant scene.
Where To Swim? (Beach)
There are so many beautiful spots to swim with that crystal clear Caribbean water and white sand that we know you’ve dreamt of. We loved Flamenco Beach on the island of Culebra, a horseshoe-shaped bay with authentic food stalls and the most iconic attraction - an abandoned World War tank covered in graffiti. It can be quite busy on the weekend, we recommend going during the week.
Things To Do?
“Definitely head to Loiza for some bacalaitos (codfish fritters) and Los Kioskos de Luquillo, El Yunque Rainforest and Charco Azul in Vega Baja with a local guide for a quick dip! I recommend renting a car so you can drive around the island instead.” - @Tatsgab
Where To Drink?
@Tatsgab took us to her favourite bar Asturias in Ponce, and it did not disappoint. The walls are rich with Spanish influence, the mojitos are delicious and the Latin music creates a beautiful atmosphere.
What To Wear?
Well that part is easy…Auguste of course! @Tatsgab is wearing her favourite pieces from the Sonnet collection, with classic sundresses and elevated separates that evoke a sense of undone elegance.
