We recently spent a weekend playing tourist with our girl Gabby Smith at one of Byron Beach Abodes’ most gorgeous stays. As there’s so much to love when visiting Byron, we thought it would be selfish not to share a few of our favourite things to see and do in this beautiful pocket of the world.
Far enough from town for some peace and quiet yet easily manageable on foot, Byron Beach Abodes’ The Cottage is just the sort of place you want to recreate at home. From the charming original features to the luxurious comforts – we’re in love. Oh, and you can book this in combination with The Chapel for 8 visitors.
(Happy stays, happy days.)
DINE
TOP SHOP
This one is right around the corner from The Cottage and so perfect for a light breakfast in the sun. We’re yet to find a better acai bowl.
LIGHT YEARS
A retrofitted Vietnamese restaurant that’s all about sharing (though you’ll definitely want the milo and tamarind parfait all to yourself).
THE MEZ CLUB
A must-do for drinks and nibbles, this dreamy cantina is inspired by Greece and Morocco and it delivers on the mediterranean flair.
PLAY
THE LIGHTHOUSE LOOP
With spots of rainforest, mountain vistas over the ocean and the famed lighthouse, this is arguably Australia’s most stunning walk. You’ll have to do at least one leg.
THE PASS
An easy favourite with stretches of soft sand and long, clear waves dotted with surfers, this is a local piece of paradise.
KILLEN FALLS
A short and scenic drive from The Cottage, Killen Falls is a fresh water gem in the Big Scrub (Byron’s ancient rainforest). Don’t forget your swimsuit.
