FRANCESCA: BTS - PART 1

FRANCESCA: BTS - PART 1

An ode to days spent lost on pebbled Spanish streets heading towards the golden hour, it’s only fitting that our Francesca collection was captured on one of our favourite islands, Menorca. Between its laidback lifestyle and the heavenly turquoise waters, the island was nothing less than a dream (even if we did have a seemingly endless amount of work).

They say you don’t make a photo with just a camera and in the case of this campaign, that couldn’t be more correct – our team earned themselves more than a few Aperol Spritzers for all their incredible work! Take a look at some of our behind the scenes moments and get to know the angels who pulled this memorable shoot together.

Part 2 with the rest of the team coming to the blog soon!

TREVOR KING
Photographer

Where did you travel from to be here?
I flew in from Los Angeles.

Your favourite location on the Island was…
I think everyone’s favourite location was Cala Binibèquer. Beautiful beach, fresh fish and Campari Spritz at Los Bucaneros beach bar, cliff jumping – what else could you ask for.

What does your role on the team involve?
Photographer, maker of the "best guacamole” apparently.

Tell us, where are you off to after this?
Back to LA. My wife is about to give birth to a baby boy.

Your ‘travel to Spain' essential is…
A great bunch of people to travel with. It makes or breaks any trip.

Any advice for someone coming to Menorca?
Be ready to have a few flight stopovers. It takes a minute to get there. Bring a camera, it is one of the most picturesque places I’ve been to.
Going in late September was so nice. I was in Italy in July. It was too hot. If you can wait, wait until September. Less crowds, cheaper prices, perfect temperature.

Talk us through your trip highlight…
Waking up in an amazing Spanish villa and being able to spend half of the day shooting there. That place was so beautiful.
The whole trip was a highlight. Super fun and chill team. One of those jobs that you have to pinch yourself and remind yourself that you’re lucky enough to be getting paid to do this.

My advice to someone traveling to Menorca would be to learn the basics of the Spanish language beforehand.

My trip highlight was getting to see someone jump off the cliff into the ocean.

JAIMI-LEE FITZGERALD
Head of Marketing / Shoot Producer

Where did you travel from to be here?
Byron Bay via a few days in Los Angeles.

Your favourite location on the Island was…
Cala Macarella, a long walk for some of the most crystal clear water I’ve ever seen and incredible white cliffs.

What does your role on the team involve?
I was the producer, essentially this involved pulling the shoot together, managing the team and ensuring we were achieving the end goal… And making sure everyone was well fed & holding an Aperol Spritz on the conclusion of each day.

Tell us, where are you off to after this?
Back home to Byron Bay.

Your ‘travel to Spain' essential is…
A good hat, swimmers and some Saya Skincare Argan Oil (to take care of that sun drenched skin).

Any advice for someone coming to Menorca?
Hire a car so you have freedom to explore the beaches, towns and see the incredible Spanish countryside.

Talk us through your trip highlight…
Too many to note! Sipping red wine at sunset while working on the terrace of our Spanish Villa, the final day wrap at the beach with the team - swimming, spritz, smiles. And a 7 hour stopover in Barcelona, eating tapas in the city and getting so engrossed in the city that we had to run (cue sprint) through Barcelona airport to make our Dubai connecting flight.

ANDREA
Photography Assistant

Where did you travel from to be here?
I travelled from Italy, exactly from Milan.

Your favourite location on the Island was…
My favourite location was that small and warm beach on the west coast (I think) of Menorca where we spent quite the half of our travel, working smiling, and diving.

What does your role on the team involve?
I’m the digital assistant of Trevor, the photographer. My job consists of checking the quality of the pictures in terms of focus, color, light, to sort them, and to be sure that the whole work will be safe.

Tell us, where are you off to after this?
After this job I came back to my town, many other shootings were waiting for me.

Your ‘travel to Spain' essential is…
For the first time after a working session leaving the people whom I worked with, I felt a little bit sad. I spent amazing moments with very kind people – so definitely good company.

Any advice for someone coming to Menorca?
For sure to enjoy seafood in front (in the middle) of a beach, a to chill properly enjoy the beauty and the peace of that place
